The Venice jetty inlet was created to allow boating access from the intercoastal waterway into The Gulf of Mexico. Entering the Intercoastal waterway at Boca Grande you can navigate along protected waters to Sarasota. Building of the ICW created the Island of Venice Florida. This view is looking north along the city coastline. The Venice coastline is only 2 miles in length and the hughest buildings are limited to 11 stories tall.

Venice beach extends for many miles Southward from the Jettys inlet, past a limited amount of Condominiums, private homes, a public fishing pier, Casperson Beach Park and into Manasota Key Beach and Charlotte County, Englewood Beach area. What you see is what you get as there can be no new development along the coastline.

One of the ever changing sunsets from Venice Beach. The Venice Jetty and Beach area draws crowds everyday, no 2 sunsets are alike.

Childrens splash fountain is located in downtown Venice at Centenial Park. The building of this fountain was spear headed by Venice Main Street as part on the on-going efforts to promote the downtown area. A wide range of merchants and restaurants make up the downtown area, all within easy walking distance as well as the Venice Little Theater, Library, Art Center and Community center.

Residents of Venice include the Pelicans. Always looking for something to eat the pelicans sit patient waiting for the nearby fisherman to share their catch while fishing from the Noth Jettys. A great place to watch the sunsets and boat traffice accessing teh Gulf of Mexico from the Intercoastal waterway.
